We restore classic cars and trucks. Our aim is to answer your questions and provide as much information as possible about our process.
Almost always you are looking for an estimate based on your car’s current condition. This is the most common question and the most difficult to answer without an in depth examination of the vehicle.
Following our initial chat, once we are all confident your initial questions have been answered and you are keen to proceed to the next stage, we will assist you in coordinating transportation of your vehicle to our workshop in Katikati.
Once here we fill out a check-in sheet and record check-in photos. Your vehicle is then estimated by the team. The estimate is based on the estimate work sheet developed after our initial conversation when we worked through your objectives and goals for your finished project.
When we have completed the estimate projecting both parts and labour, we will ask you to come in and review it with us to ensure we are all on the same page with the project and make any amendments where required.
Once authorised we develop a production and deposit schedule. The production schedule is determined by the scope of the job and the flow in the workshop . The payment schedule is based on 30% deposit at the time of authorization and monthly payments through the anticipated completion of the restoration with the last payment being due on delivery. For small projects under $5,000 the payment is 50% down and the balance upon completion and delivery. Any supplementary labour and parts are all authorised by you. Payment for supplementary parts is due and collected on presentation to you. You are kept up-to-date on the progress of your vehicle. We will provide updates to include photos and job in progress reports as your vehicle progresses through the restoration process.
The final process is quality control that includes a comprehensive review of the restoration, WOF or Certification as required and functionality check of every aspect of the job including a series of test drives. Once we are confident your vehicle is ready for delivery we assist you in arranging transportation. Where a guarantee is agreed it is a condition that we see see the car at least annually but preferably every six months. To encourage this we provide free WOF's for a period of two years on every full restoration (conditions apply).
